What's the role? 

We are looking for a Boilermaker join the well-established Qube team in the Northern Goldfields, for the Thunderbox site operations. The primary role of the Boilermaker is to assist in maintaining the upkeep & maintenance of fleets of prime movers, earthmoving equipment and all mechanical equipment operational and serviced, maintained and repaired as needed in accordance with site requirements.

A suitable candidate will have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work under pressure, independently & collaboratively within a team environment.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have: 

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Must have relevant trade certifications ie. Certificate III in Engineering, Fabrication & Welding qualifications
  • Current High Risk Work Licence
  • Must hold (or have ability to obtain) current Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry & Gas Testing Atmospheres tickets
  • Suitable Trade Qualification or Certification 
  • Must have minimum 1 years’ qualified industry experience 
  • Demonstrated working experience with heavy vehicles & heavy machinery (Kenworth, Volvo & Mack Prime Movers, side-tippers, bowl tippers, belly dumpers, Cats, Cummins etc.) 
  • Experience in a heavy transport or mining industries (highly regarded)
  • Heavy duty work on buckets welding and G.E.T replacement and repairs
  • Trailer buildering or body building fabrication experience
  • Ability to read & interpret drawings and work to OEM design specs for repairs
  • National Police Clearance – dated within last 12 months of application 
  • Good mechanical aptitude 
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people 
  • Strong analytical thinker with an ability to make concise and compelling decisions 
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of work completed
