THE ROLE

We are seeking motivated individuals looking for a career start in Stevedoring at the Port of Port Hedland.  With us you could access training in a variety of roles to explore opportunities and be part of a workplace where success, innovation and achievement are recognised.

Specific duties for this role include working as part of an experienced team loading and unloading general and bulk cargoes, shipboard and wharf duties and basic clerical tasks across a number of random shifts.

Our operations specialise in loading and unloading general and bulk cargoes. Types of commodities handled include bulker bags, steel products, livestock, project cargo, bulk cargo (including spodumene & copper concentrates) and R&D Services.

The successful applicant must be prepared to work an irregular shift pattern in a 24/7 roster sometimes at short notice.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Current Australian driver’s licence (essential)
• High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, Dogging, Crane – highly regarded)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
• Ability to work at heights (training highly regarded)
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse workforce
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, with a proactive approach
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a demanding operational environment
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical assessment
• Ability to pass pre‑employment and ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing
