About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to further develop and grow your career, gaining broad exposure across the full employee lifecycle while working alongside an experienced and supportive People & Culture team within a large nationwide organisation.
As a People & Culture Officer, you'll provide day-to-day support to managers and employees across the business, helping deliver timely, compliant, and people-focused outcomes. Working closely with operational leaders, you'll play a key role in recruitment, employment administration, employee records management, and People & Culture initiatives.
Location: Mount Maunganui
Status: Full-Time, Monday - Friday
A snapshot of some of the specific responsibilities:
- Provide day‑to‑day People & Culture support and advice to managers and employees
- Draft employment agreements, variations, and employment correspondence
- Administer HRIS and recruitment systems (Jemini & PageUp)
- Support hiring processes including interviews, reference checks, and pre‑employment checks
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain accurate employee records and process pay and status changes
- Generate reports and support audits as required
- Support employee wellbeing initiatives and access to EAP services
- Assist with employment relations matters
Who we're looking for:
- Someone with a tertiary-level degree in HR or similar is preferred
- Experience in HR or a related administrative role
- Working knowledge of NZ employment legislation
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Confidence working with employees, managers, and unions
- Experience using HRIS and recruitment systems
- A willingness to get stuck in and support the wider team
