About the role? 

We are currently seeking an accomplished Project Manager for one of our projects in Acland.

In this role you will be accountable for the safe, and efficient delivery of the daily operational activity whilst building and maintaining a strong relationship with our customer and local community.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, your major focus will be leading the day-to-day operational, and workshop activities, communicating and reporting to the customer; driving safety initiatives; managing the workforce and delivering profitable results for the business.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of all safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate and conduct on‑site risk assessments to ensure activities meet HSSE requirements.
  • Maintain full compliance with site HSSE standards and ensure all regulatory obligations are consistently met.
  • Management and investigation of all incidents.
  • Oversee all on-road haulage and rail loading activities.
  • Effectively manage all aspects of the Train Loading Facilities.
  • Drive performance and process improvement.
  • Lead the team to ensure customer inventories are accurately managed in line with legislative obligations and contractual requirements.
  • Plan and oversee production activities to consistently meet customer delivery and service requirements.
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members to ensure operational readiness and capability.
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with employees, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and execute cost‑management opportunities that enhance the project’s commercial performance.
  • Lead the delivery of monthly and quarterly customer performance review meetings.
  • Ensure all customer KPIs are met or exceeded through proactive management and performance tracking.
  • Provide weekly reporting to senior management, including variance analysis and insights into contract financial performance.

To be successful in this role, it is preferred that candidates have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable role within the Mining, Transport and Logistics sector, ideally with exposure to the resources industry.
  • Understanding of rail operations.
  • Ability to operate a Front-End Loader.
  • Demonstrated strengths in leading safety culture and driving exceptional safety performance.
  • Well‑developed people‑management capabilities across diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • High level of commercial insight and financial acumen.
  • Experience managing full profit and loss outcomes at contract or branch level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and prioritise work across multiple operational demands.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • A proactive, positive, and solutions‑focused attitude.
