Position: Rail Operations Co-ordinator

What Your Role Will Look Like
- Coordinate and manage container movements to ensure train services are loaded, dispatched, and operated efficiently.
- Plan and order containers in accordance with customer requirements, train capacity, and operational schedules.
- Monitor container allocations and train consists to maximise asset utilisation and service delivery.
- Update Train Management Systems and other operational platforms with container and train movement data.
- Assist in managing operational disruptions, incidents, and equipment faults impacting container movements.
- Support contingency planning to minimise service delays and maintain customer commitments.
- Build strong working relationships with customers, terminal operators, train crews, maintenance providers, and track access providers to ensure seamless freight operations.
- Maintain accurate shift diaries and operational reports relating to container movements and train performance.
What You Can Bring to the Role
- Experience coordinating freight, logistics, container movements, or transport operations.
- Strong understanding of planning and allocating resources in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Ability to prioritise container bookings and movements to meet customer and network requirements.
- Proven problem-solving skills when managing scheduling conflicts, service disruptions, or operational constraints.
- Excellent communication skills with customers, terminals, train crews, and operational stakeholders.
- Strong computer and data entry skills with the ability to maintain accurate operational records.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adjust plans as operational conditions change.
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and compliance within rail and freight operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team focused on delivering reliable freight services
