About the Role:
The primary responsibility of the Shift Manager is to manage and drive the loading and unloading of ships arriving at the port. This is a demanding but rewarding leadership role and pivotal to our organisation. It will involve leading a dedicated team of skilled individuals in the handling of everything from logs, timber, bulk products and more. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of your team and for managing cargo flow through the effective use of our unique cargo management systems.
Location: Bluff
Status: This is a full-time salaried role. Rosters are driven by shipping schedules, and flexibility is required, including rotating between morning and evening shifts to meet business demands.
Specific Responsibilities
- Lead and support your team on shift
- Ensure strict adherence to Qube safety protocols
- Run pre-shift meetings and safety briefings
- Use our cargo management systems effectively
- Coordinate with captains, port authorities, and logistics partners
- Optimise loading/unloading operations
