What's the role? 

We are looking for experienced, locally-based Stevedores to join the Qube team in Port Hedland at the Eastern Harbour Ports.

Specific duties for this role include working to load & unload general and bulk cargoes, shipboard and wharf duties and basic clerical tasks across a number of shifts.

Our operations specialise in loading and unloading general and bulk cargoes. Types of commodities handled include bulker bags, steel products, livestock, project cargo, bulk cargo (including spodumene & copper concentrates) and R&D Services.

  • Successful applicants must be prepared to work irregular shift patterns within a 24/7 roster and sometimes at short notice.

To be successful for this role, it is essential that candidates have:

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • High Risk Work Licence incl. forklift, dogging, rigging & crane certifications - essential
  • Hold current Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) – or ability to obtain
  • Current Working at Heights ticket – or ability to obtain
  • National Police Clearance – dated within last 6 months of application 
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening 
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other operators 
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of work completed  
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices
  • Good knowledge of load restraint guidelines & good mechanical aptitude 
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a demanding operational environment
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, with a proactive approach
