ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary purpose of Operations Supervisor is to act as the principal operational supervisor for day- to-day activities at Barry’s Beach Marine Terminal. The roster for this role is 7 on / 7 off. 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the Client Vessel Scheduler, in establishing the requirements for load out and discharge of the vessel.
  • Create and articulate the work plan to implement the requirements outlined by the Client Vessel Scheduler and process all documentation accordingly.
  • In conjunction with the site manager, plan for and implement work flow in order to ensure maintenance and housekeeping requirements are met.
  • Coordinate and supervise yard and warehouse personnel as directed by the Site Manager
  • Compliance records, reports and information in connection with the supervisory responsibilities
  • Observe, direct and correct operating behavior of employees under supervision to ensure safe work practices
  • Conduct toolbox talks as required in order to communicate key operational issues associated with the shift
  • Observe Qube policies and procedures as they apply to the tasks assigned
  • Operate in a safe manner at all times, ensuring that any safety breaches or incidents are reported immediately to the Site Manager or SSH&E Manager
  • Act as Site Manager, in the Site Manager’s absence.
  • Any other duties as directed by us.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Mandatory requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar role
  • High Risk License in Forklift (up to 16 T blade fork)
  • Formal qualifications (Cert III, IV or Diploma) in Stevedoring or Warehousing Operations, or willingness to gain same
  • Manual drivers licence
  • Computer/IT literate - Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well within a small team environment

Desirable skills:

  • Experience using ERM Software (experience in SAP and specifically IPES will be well regarded, as will any SAP Super-user experience)
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Qube proprietary IT management systems
  • Forklift Licence up to 35 tonne
  • Reach Stacker licence up to 45 Tonne
  • Rigger and/or Dogman License
  • Working at Heights training
  • Enclosed space entry training
  • Oil spill response training
  • Waste management experience and qualifications
  • Dangerous Goods handling experience and qualifications
  • Mooring and unmooring vessels
  • 25 Seater Bus
  • Trade qualifications such as carpenter, electrician, mechanic and plumber will be highly regarded
