About the role
Based in Portland, the Accounts Payable Officer is required to co-ordinate and perform clerical accounts functions, as well as assisting the key relationships to adhere to company policies.

Specific Responsibilities
Specific tasks would include but not be limited to:
- Co-ordinate operational information and input data into invoicing system within required time frames to ensure customer contracts are adhered to
- Ensure all month end deadlines are met
- Ensure all vendor invoices are authorised in accordance with company policy
- Code invoices using company’s chart of accounts
- Match invoices to purchase orders and process
- Reconcile supplier statements on a monthly basis
- Provide accrual information for AP at month end
- Scan and save all batches to appropriate folders
- Maintain filing systems both electronic and physical
- Provide monthly reports
- Provide administrative support
- Foster positive working relationships with the workforce through communication, consultation and negotiation.
- Foster positive external relationships with suppliers
- Other ad hoc duties as required to assist with the finance function
- Any other associated task
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office & Excel
- Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution
- Ability to work well within a small team environment
- Understanding of standard accounting rules & regulations in regard to the role
- Entry of AP invoices into MainPac and Oracle system
- Familiarity with the concepts involved in multiple business unit / cost centre accounting
- Planning and problem solving ability
- Time management
