The Opportunity
Role Type: Full-Time
Location: Tarago, NSW
The primary purpose of the Logistics Supervisor role is to lead and manage operational teams stockpiling and loading mineral concentrates to road transport, allocating labour in order to achieve required productivity to meet mine production plane whilst setting safety and customer performance standards.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure appropriate communication of standards, expectations and procedures to the operational team through pre start safety and information discussions and meetings.
- Selects, prepares and directs the use of appropriate equipment in a safe and productive manner that contributes to safe practices, damage prevention and productivity.
- Directs and manages the performance of the operations team on the job to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
- Liaises with customer at daily production meetings to ensure all tasks are coordinated and allocated to meet the production forecast.
- Complete and process all required documents including stockpile capacity plans, container loading plans, transport forecasts and staff rosters.
- Set standard for safe efficient operations, cleanliness of equipment, conduct of all company personnel.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with employment terms (EA’s), OH&S and Environmental legislation and company policy and take necessary corrective action.
- Resolve queries and issues raised by the workforce relating to policy and practice and elevate the issues to the Supply Base Manager when appropriate.
- Identify and submit hazard and near miss and incident reports and assist with investigations.
Qualifications and experience
- Supervisory experience in a similar role
- Experience in mining operations
- Experience forecasting transport and labour demands
- Experience in regulated workplace environments.
- Computer skills – Excel, word, outlook
- Heavy Top Lift Forklift Experience and License
- Front End Loader Experience and License
- Skid Steer Experience and License
