Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the QP Asset & Engineering Manager is to support management in ensuring that Qube Ports sites comply with all the client, regulatory compliance and company responsibilities, including safety, through the effective procurement and maintenance of plant and equipment at the operating sites. The role is to support the Management team with technical maintenance support for operations and procure and install task fit assets as required.
Specific Responsibilities
Asset & Maintenance Management
- Support maintenance teams across Qube Ports sites.
- Develop and maintain maintenance processes and procedures.
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
- Ensure OEM maintenance recommendations are followed.
- Implement and monitor preventative maintenance via Mainpac.
- Conduct asset lifecycle reviews for performance and sustainability.
- Maintain the Asset Register in Mainpac and Sisense.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Report on asset and site maintenance KPIs.
- Analyse Mainpac/Sisense data for informed decision-making.
- Monitor repair costs and investigate overruns.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on fleet availability and repair plans.
- Review KPIs and make recommendations to operating managers.
Capital Expenditure & Procurement
- Assist with Capex budgeting, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Review and support machinery procurement processes.
- Deliver fit-for-purpose assets on time and within budget.
- Evaluate lease/rent/purchase options for cost efficiency.
- Manage warranty claims and supplier relationships.
Fleet & Compliance Oversight
- Monitor transport fleet for NHVR compliance.
- Ensure robust maintenance systems and conduct audits.
- Track defect reports and manage fleet age/reliability.
- Recommend component replacements to reduce downtime.
System Integration & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to integrate asset management systems.
- Implement automated systems (e.g., telematics).
- Train site maintenance staff on Mainpac usage.
- Support strategic engineering and innovation goals.
Collaboration & Communication
- Liaise with operations and suppliers for asset suitability.
- Coordinate with NAM and other teams for asset reallocation.
- Conduct regular meetings with site maintenance staff.
- Provide monthly reports and support strategic planning.
