About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Welder Engineer to join our Bluff-based operational team on the port. In this hands-on role, you’ll carry out fabrication, maintenance, and repair work on a wide range of heavy off-road machinery including loaders, material handlers, and terminal tractors. You’ll be based at the Bluff port with access to the right tools, gear, and support.
Location: Gisborne Port
Status: Full-time, Mon-Fri 0730 - 1630
Specific Responsibilities:
- Carry out welding, fabrication, and repairs on heavy machinery and port equipment
- Monitor and replace worn attachments and components
- Provide technical input to improve component quality and longevity
- Maintain a safe work environment and report incidents promptly
Who we're after:
- Must have a NZQA Level 4 Trade Qualification (or overseas equivalent)
- Proven experience heavy equipment welding plus solid understanding of welding practices.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Bring a positive, can-do attitude to the role.
