About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Receival & Delivery (R&D) Manager to lead all Receival & Delivery and Quarantine operations at our AAT terminal. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient cargo processing while delivering high service standards aligned with the terminal’s strategic, operational, and commercial objectives.
The R&D Manager will work closely with terminal operations, superintendents, and key external stakeholders to optimise cargo flow, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all R&D and Quarantine functions.
Key Responsibilities
Receival & Delivery & Quarantine Operations
- End-to-end management of Receival & Delivery and Quarantine functions.
- Ensure compliance with ACCC Undertakings, Quarantine Approved Premises obligations, and the Terminal Operations Deed.
- Plan and coordinate yard utilisation, cargo flow, and vessel schedules.
- Oversee R&D operations, including out-of-hours operational requirements.
- Act as the subject matter expert for the Terminal Management System.
- Manage Quarantine activities, audits, reporting, and liaison with DAFF officers.
- Lead, coach, and manage direct reports (R&D Foreman and R&D Clerks).
- Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and manage performance issues.
- Manage industrial relations matters in line with awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies.

Workplace Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company policies, and site safety plans.
- Actively promote a strong safety culture through leadership, training, inspections, and reporting.
- Participate in incident investigations, contractor management, and safety audits.
- Support internal and external audits.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in terminal operations, receival & delivery, or similar logistics environments.
- Strong understanding of quarantine, compliance frameworks, and ACCC obligations.
- Excellent operational planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder and customer relationship management capability.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to support revenue growth.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including managing after-hours operational issues.
- Knowledge of awards, enterprise agreements, and WHS legislation.
- Ability to obtain and hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
