About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Duty Operations Manager to manage the Lyttelton Stevedoring operation. Reporting to the Port Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day operations, ensuring safety and compliance standards are met, and delivering strong operational and customer outcomes. You will manage staff within the Port, coordinate resources, and work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners including port companies, customers, and vessel agents.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations across Lyttelton
- Ensure compliance with Qube’s safety, environmental, and operational standards
- Coordinate labour resources and monitor operational performance
- Liaise with customers, port companies, vessel agents, and other stakeholders
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
- Oversee timesheets
- Ensure accurate reporting
Who we're after:
- Minimum 5 years' operational leadership experience
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Computer literacy and moderate Microsoft Excel skills
- Practical thinker with multi-operational coordination experience
