ABOUT THE ROLE

Qube is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair a diverse range of plant, mobile machinery, and vessel‑related equipment. This hands‑on role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to make a real impact on the success of our port operations.

The role is primarily Monday to Friday, however, flexibility to support vessel operations outside standard hours and respond to urgent breakdowns is highly desirable.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Service, maintain, and repair plant, mobile, and vessel-related equipment
  • Carry out preventative maintence to maximise equipment reliability
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs, including welding and fabrication
  • Maintain conveyers, bagging systems, bulk grabs, hoppers, and site assets
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records in Mainpac
  • Conduct pre-start inspections and identify hazards
  • Liaise with contractors and specialist service providers as required
  • Support continuous improvement initiative and operational performance

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical or maintenance trade
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance within industrial, workshop, or heavy equipment environments
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Welding and fabrication skills (desirable)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and documentation
  • Experience with conveyors, bulk handling, or port equipment (highly regarded)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
