The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Regional Maintenance Manager to lead and coordinate maintenance activities across the Qube Bulk Division throughout Australia. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, reliable and cost-effective availability of fleet, plant and equipment assets while supporting operational performance and business objectives.

This position provides strategic leadership across multiple maintenance and workshop operations, driving asset performance, maintenance excellence, safety leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Asset & Maintenance Superintendent
  • Asset Procurement and Fleet Optimisation Managers
  • Equipment OEMs, Suppliers and Contractors

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant trade qualification (HV Diesel, Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management or equivalent (desirable).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in senior maintenance or workshop leadership roles.
  • Strong background in road transport, heavy equipment, plant or bulk handling environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-site maintenance teams and contractors.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, Chain of Responsibility and maintenance compliance requirements.
  • High level proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.

Leadership & Management

  • Provide visible leadership to workshop and maintenance teams across the region, fostering a strong safety culture and high performance.
  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports and succession pipelines.
  • Drive consistency of maintenance practices, standards and systems across all sites.

Maintenance & Asset Management

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies and lifecycle plans for major assets and fleets.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, execution quality and backlog control through the CMMS.
  • Coordinate major overhauls, shutdowns and specialist maintenance activities.
  • Monitor asset reliability, availability and cost performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support capital planning, replacement strategies and business cases, including lifecycle cost analysis and asset specifications.

Operational Support

  • Partner with operational teams to align maintenance delivery with production and customer requirements.
  • Ensure parts, materials and contractor services are planned and available to support maintenance execution.
  • Review and optimise maintenance processes to improve productivity and cost effectiveness.

Financial & Commercial

  • Develop and manage regional maintenance budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor maintenance costs, overtime, contractor expenditure and inventory performance.
  • Manage supplier relationships, pricing agreements and contractor performance.

Safety, Health & Environment

  • Champion Zero Harm and ensure compliance with all WHS, Chain of Responsibility and environmental requirements.
  • Ensure hazards, incidents and near misses are reported, investigated and controlled.
  • Verify fitness for work, competency, training and PPE compliance across the region.
  • Lead safety audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.

Governance & Reporting

  • Ensure maintenance documentation, records and compliance evidence are complete and auditable.
  • Provide regular reporting on safety, reliability, compliance, cost and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to regional and corporate asset management and maintenance strategies.Qualifications & Experience

The Regional Maintenance Manager is accountable for leading by example and ensuring all work is performed safely, ethically and in compliance with company SHEMS, policies and legal obligations. Stopping unsafe work and escalating hazards is a core requirement of the role.
