About the Role
We’re looking for a capable Bluff Workshop Supervisor to lead our Mechanical & Engineering team and ensure the safe, efficient, and high‑quality maintenance of our heavy machinery and port equipment. This leadership role is hands‑on and ideal for someone who is proactive, safety‑focused, and confident managing both workload and people.
Location: Bluff
Status: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the Bluff workshop
- Supervise and support a small mechanical team
- Plan and prioritise workload to meet operational requirements
- Oversee servicing, repairs, and maintenance of heavy plant and port equipment
- Ensure H&S procedures, reporting, and safe work practices are consistently followed
- Maintain workshop standards, documentation, and compliance
- Available for rostered callouts
Who we're after:
- NZQA Level 4 Automotive Heavy Engineering qualification, or an NZQA‑recognised equivalent
- A genuine self‑starter with strong planning and organisational skills
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support a workshop team
- Skilled in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery
- Strong safety mindset with a commitment to Zero Harm
