About the role

The primary purpose of the Multi-Combination (MC) Heavy-Combination (HC) Heavy Ridged Operators is to safely and efficiently operate MC-HC and HR trucks and other heavy equipment such as vehicle mounted cranes/forklifts as used by Qube Energy as part of its operations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Efficient operation of vehicles
• Conduct pre and post start vehicle checks
• Report any defects in a timely manner
• Complete all necessary associated documentation (such as the preparation and signing of cartage dockets and service requests)
• Follow appropriate company procedures
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of deficiencies in the delivery of product
• Undertake supervision work when directed
• Take good care of vehicles/plant under your care
• Compliance with all Main Roads heavy vehicle operating guide lines
• Compliance with fatigue management
• Compliance with loading requirements, axle weights, adhering to vehicle specific permits
• Compliance within the NHVL guidelines for Standard, Basic and Advanced Fatigue Management
• Compliance with Chain of Responsibility requirements
• Management of loads including weight requirements, dangerous goods compliance and load restraint
• Professional conduct both at Qube, vendors and customer managed facilities

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

• Multi-Combination (MC) Driver licence
• Experience operating a Side Loader trailer
• Heavy Combination (HC) Driver licence
• Heavy Rigid (HR) experience
• High Risk Forklift ticket - Highly regarded
• High Risk Dogman ticket – Required
• Basic/Intermediate Rigging ticket – Highly desirable
• Appropriate licence class for any other vehicles operated
• Experience in water and vacuum tankers
• Experience in driving heavy vehicles and other machinery as used by Qube Energy
• Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards, Main Road Heavy vehicle legislation and permitting standards
• Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
• Ability to work well within a team environment
