The Opportunity

With our continuous growth at Qube Bulk, we are looking to employ an experienced Commercial Manager on a permanent full-time basis to join our North West Operation.

The Commercial Manager – North West is responsible for leading the commercial strategy and contract management for Qube Bulk’s operations in the Pilbara region. This role ensures the effective administration of contracts, drives commercial performance, and fosters strong customer relationships. The Commercial Manager will also support business development initiatives, manage risk, and contribute to strategic decision-making aligned with Qube’s goals.

Reporting To:

General Manager – Midwest/North West

In Direct Reports:

On-site Administrators – strong indirect reporting line through to the Commercial Manager

Key Relationships:

General manager – Commercial, Operational Regional Managers, Business Development Teams, Other Divisions of Qube

Specific Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Oversee full lifecycle of contracts including drafting, negotiation, execution, and compliance.
  • Prepare and manage agreements, communications, and variation claims.
  • Provide expert advice on contract terms and conditions to internal stakeholders.
  • Update pricing for monthly fuel adjustments and annual rise and falls.
  • Apply deep understanding of business drivers and market trends to guide commercial decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and additional contracted services.
  • Support tender development and responses in collaboration with the General Manager Commercial, National Commercial Manager and Business Development teams.
  • Deliver customer-centric solutions that meet expectations and drive value.
  • Make sound, timely decisions using a mix of analysis, experience, and judgment.
  • Evaluate risks and benefits of various options and uncover root causes of complex issues.
  • Interpret financial indicators to inform strategic decisions.
  • Use financial analysis to evaluate and act on commercial opportunities.
  • Build and maintain formal and informal networks across the organization.
  • Champion ideas and provide direct, actionable feedback.
  • Instill trust through integrity, consistency, and authenticity.
  • Promote Zero Harm principles and ensure compliance with SHEMS documentation.
  • Identify and manage risks, participate in safety training, and maintain required competencies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in logistics, mining, or transport sectors.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Commonwealth/State contracts and commercial legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
