ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a skilled Hoist Driver to join our high-performing team at our busy Tauranga Depot. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with heavy machinery and wants to take their hoist operating skills to the next level by operating our 50-tonne container handlers. Previous container hoist experience is preferred, but not essential, as training will be provided.

Position: Hoist Driver

Location: Sulphur Point, Tauranga

Hours: This is a full-time, permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 40.25 hours per week. The role operates Monday to Sunday, 6:00am to 6:00pm, on a rotating 4-on, 4-off roster, offering great work-life balance with the option to work additional hours.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Move containers around the yard to support ground operations as required
• Operate single and double-stacker container hoists, assisting with container stacking up to eight high, with a maximum rated capacity of 45,000kg
• Load and unload trucks and work areas as required
• Communicate clearly and cooperatively using RT communication
• Follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to our Zero Harm culture

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

To be successful in this role, you will be punctual, reliable and have a strong work ethic. You will also be confident working around heavy machinery and enjoy being part of a busy operational team.

• Full NZ Class 1 licence - essential
• Class 2 licence - preferred, but not essential
• Experience driving heavy vehicles and confidence working with heavy machinery
• Strong commitment to health, safety and Zero Harm
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work across other company sites when required
• Team player with the ability to work well with others
• Clear and confident RT communication skills

Please note: A container hoist is different from a regular hoist or forklift. Training will be provided to support you in operating this machinery.
